We all know that war is a terrible thing and awful things happen during major conflicts. They don’t really come much bigger than World War II and what our grandparents, mums and dads had to go through to endure it. But we humans have an amazing capacity to deal with extreme events, especially the British who have an endless capacity to see the funnier side of any event.

We heard some amazing accounts from our Riveter lady who worked in the Spitfire factory as a teenager during the war. Yes times were very sad, with sad events all around them every day but sometimes one disaster can be just unacceptable, such as a pair of dungarees too big to wear that kept tripping our riveter which was simply too much to bear… A girl can be pushed only so far!
