Last night a private charity screening of The Secret Spitfires took place at Coombe Bissett to help raise funds for the much needed improvements to the village hall. The event was completely full within days of announcing it and attended by the Mayor of Salisbury Cllr Derek Brown OBE, Retd Air Vice Marshal Eric Macey OBE, Phil Harding of Time Team as well as the surviving secret factory girls who took part in the film.

After the screening of the film Norman Parker, the historical advisor to the film, ran a Q&A session to explain many pieces of historical facts of the region regarding the incredible story of the thousands of Spitfires which were built right in the centre of the City of Salisbury.

The producers were asked by those who attended the screening as well as the Mayor to organise a special screening of the documentary at Salisbury as soon as possible to allow the city to learn about this completely unknown part of its history during WW2.

Here is a video of a small selection of comments from those who attended.
